Frequently asked questions

Physical Therapy FAQs

What conditions do you treat?

We help individuals recover from injuries, manage chronic pain, post surgical treatment, TMJ disorder, headaches, EDS hypermobility and so much more! Call today to see if we are right for you.

Do you provide personalized treatment plans?

Absolutely.  We at the Space PT believe that superior care means superior outcomes.  We do not believe in cookie cutter treatment plans.  There are some cases where many people can benefit from similar treatments, but no two people are alike.

What types of therapy do you offer?

Our services include manual therapy, exercise programs, and guidance on lifestyle changes to support recovery and prevention.  We specialize in Orthopedic care but Dr. Razak has worked with a wide variety of patients.  Please call to see if we are a good fit for you and your needs!

How can physical therapy help me?

Physical therapy can reduce pain, improve strength and mobility, and enhance quality of life through personalized treatment plans.

Do I need a referral for therapy?

Not necessarily.  You will need a referral for Medicare and Tricare Prime prior to coming for service.  Tricare Select Patients do not need a referral to star but will need one to continue physical therapy after the initial appoint.  We also offer cash pay, which requires no referral! We welcome self-referred clients seeking care.

What Insurances do you take?

We are in the process of credentialing with Medicare and Tricare.  We anticipate that will take place at the start of the year.  Tricares contractor is changing January 1 of 2025 so we and everyone else are dealing with that process.  Until then we are a cash pay provider that is tax deductible and accept FSA/HSA funds.

What’s the difference between in-network and out-of-network insurance?

In-network insurance means we have a contract with your insurance provider to offer services at negotiated rates. This typically results in lower out-of-pocket costs for you.
Out-of-network or Non-network insurance means we do not have a direct contract with your provider. You may still receive treatment, but Tricare charges a 20% co-insurance for whatever is billed.  Here at The Space PT we are a Non-Network Pariticpating provider, which means we take Tricare and will bill insurance for you!  You just owe a Co-insurance instead of a Co-pay.  The cost of our sessions mean that your out of pocket cost is almsot identical to in network providers. Actually, after the first visit it is less!

How do co-pays and out-of-pocket expenses work?

If you’re using insurance, co-pays and co-insurance are set amounts or percentages you pay at each visit, as determined by your plan.  Our provider can better explain the cost to you if you are not aware of your insurance co-apy/co-insurance for physical therapy care.

Do you offer cash payment options if I don’t have insurance?

Yes, we offer cash payment options for those without insurance or those choosing to pay out of pocket. A typical cash session is priced at $100, and you can pay for physical therapy care with  FSA/HSA funds.

What should I expect during my first visit?

Your first visit will include a comprehensive evaluation where we’ll discuss your medical history, assess your condition, and create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals.  This process normally takes up half of the first session, depending on medical severity.  After that, the rest of the session is treatment and determining the proper home exercise plan or HEP to send you home with.
